Clarens

Clarens is a small village in the Municipality of Montreux, on the Swiss Riviera.

Here the Russian composer Igor Stravinsky wrote his ballets The Rite of Spring and Pulcinella, and Tchaikovsky his Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 35. Here died Paul Kruger, Hero of South African independence from Britain, and here resided the anarchist and geographer Elisée Reclus.
