French ChurchAbstractA hospital for the indigent founded in 1239 housed a chapel of St Catherine in the south of the town, which was demolished in the run-up to the war a few months before the Battle of Murten (1476). It was rebuilt here, intra muros, in a late Gothic style. As it serves as a reformed temple for French-speaking people, it is called the French Church.
