Friedrichshafen

This German town on Lake Constance (Bodensee) is especially famous for the revival of Zeppelin airships since the 1990s, very promising aircraft whose rise had been broken by the Hindenburg tragedy in 1937.

If you feel like it, you can book a Zeppelin flight over Friedrichshafen and Lake Constance, and even to destinations a little further afield, but you'll have to pay the price, which starts at 265 euros per person for a 30-minute flight...

Friedrichshafen has other attractions: the Schlosskirche (castle church) built between 1695 and 1701, the beautiful lakeside promenade, the Dornier Museum with its 100 years of aviation history, the Zeppelin Museum with the world's largest collection focused on airship travel, etc.

If you want to combine a visit to Friedrichshafen with a cruise on Lake Constance, you can get there from Constance by catamaran (passengers only) or from the Swiss town of Romanshorn by ferry, with your own car or motorhome.
