The Dent de Corjon with its 1967m serves as a backdrop for many shots of the village and the Lac du Vernex embellishes the site and adds an extra touch to this typical Pre-Alpine landscape.

The MOB (Montreux-Oberland Bernois) railway line connects Rossinière to Montreux, Château-d'Oex and Gstaad. Road access is via Bulle, Vevey, Lausanne or the Col des Mosses for the link to Aigle.

The Grand Chalet de Rossinière, one of the largest wooden buildings in Switzerland and even in Europe, has 113 windows and boasts richly carved facades of rare beauty. It was built in 1754 and later became a hotel where Victor Hugo stayed. The famous painter Balthus, an internationally renowned artist, became the owner and lived there until the end of his life.

The tourist office manages the maintenance of the extensive network of footpaths and Rossinière is an ideal destination for those who want tranquillity, conviviality and nature. The altitude is ideal for good health and the sunshine is above average.

Skiing and hiking are the most popular sports in the region, but we must not forget to mention angling on the beautiful Lake Vernex.
