Beckenried

The village of Beckenried (436 m above sea level) lies on the southern shore of Lake Lucerne, at the foot of Klewenalp, with a view of the famous Mount Rigi on the other side of the lake.

Beckenried, with its traditional hotels and holiday flats, is an ideal place to enjoy water sports, cycling, hiking, tennis, mini-golf, boat trips or simply to relax.

The road to Seelisberg starts in Beckenried, on the steep mountain overlooking the famous Rütli meadow, where, according to legend, the founding oath of the country was sworn.
