Rhône-Rhine CanalAbstractThe Prélot footbridge spans the Rhône-Rhine canal, which links the Saône (a navigable tributary of the Rhône) to the Rhine, via the navigable section of the Doubs and its extension in Upper Alsace to the Rhine. It is a necessary link to connect the seaports of northern Europe with those of the Mediterranean by creating a Rotterdam-Marseille river link.
