Promenade to Portara (5)

Abstract

The Portara stands at the top of the islet of Palatia, which was once connected to Naxos by an isthmus. Today, it has been replaced by a jetty and a pedestrian walkway, providing better protection for the port of Chora. A few steps and some very easy paths lead up to the ruins of the unfinished temple.
