Spiez

Nestled between hills and vineyards, dominated by a magnificent castle, a little town set in a beautiful landscape. Above Lake Thun, the Niederhorn mountain range stretches as far as the Bernese Alps and forms an impressive panorama.

Spiez

Nested between hills and vineyards, dominated by a magnificent castle, Spiez invites you to spend relaxed moments on the shores of Lake Thun.

In the background, a splendid panorama unfolds from the Niederhorn range to the Bernese Alps. The mild climate and a record number of sunny days contribute to a high quality of life. Spiez is also an ideal starting point for discovering many of the Bernese Oberland's beautiful sites.

In the summer, you can swim in the open-air pool and on the beach, take a boat trip on the beautiful Lake Thun or just stroll along the beautiful lake promenade. In the surrounding area there are many kilometres of cycling and hiking trails.

On the cultural side, you can explore the past in the medieval castle with its thousand-year-old church, visit the Heimat- und Rebbaumuseum (Homeland and Vineyard Museum) and choose from the region's rich cultural programme.

In winter, Spiez is an ideal starting point for winter sports: within an hour you can reach most of the winter sports resorts in the Bernese Oberland.

And at the end of winter, those wishing to escape the frosty weather will set off on a wildly romantic walk along the coastal path to Faulensee under the gentle rays of the March sun.
